Injected Damp Proofing

The most common cause of moisture ingress into your property is ‘rising damp’. Rising damp is where ground water seeps through the pores in the substrate into your wall and floor structure. This process is called ‘capillary action’.

Why does this mean trouble for your property?

Water carries soluble salts (particularly nitrates and chlorides), as the water rises and evaporates in the property these salts remain and accumulate on the surface at the height of the rising damp and contaminate the plaster.

The salts will deteriorate your wall and can become unsightly to your fixtures and finishes especially timber – which if left untreated will progress into rot and decay.

Why does this mean trouble for your property?

Water carries soluble salts (particularly nitrates and chlorides), as the water rises and evaporates in the property these salts remain and accumulate on the surface at the height of the rising damp and contaminate the plaster, render and any finish. The salts will deteriorate your wall and can become unsightly to your fixtures and finishes especially timber – which if left untreated will progress into rot and decay.

More than this – water penetration into properties can lead to respiratory health problems. There are many easy ways to rectify the causes of rising damp – one such remedy is an injected damp proof course.

Damp proof course is an odourless and non-toxic gel that is injected into your wall. It lines the capillaries/pores within the substrate, and prevents the movement of moisture rising up the wall thus stopping the salt deposits, leaving a dry usable wall.
